Forma is a generative art platform for creators and collectors. The Latin word for shape or appearance, Forma is a manifestation of passion, design and innovation. Our vision is to facilitate the intersection of collectors and artists: to be the place where new artists share their first projects, and where established artists experiment and play hand-in-hand with the community. We hope to build an engaged, inclusive community that shares our vision and supports us as we work to turn it into reality.
Mechanics
We’re excited to provide artists with a toolkit of bespoke contract mechanics which enable airdrops, burning, and more. Every project will live on its own contract, giving the artist unique flexibility and creative leeway in what they can enable. We were inspired by Arihz’s original burn-to-mint mechanism in his Framergence project, and saw how this new level of customization and sophistication in contracts can empower artists to innovate like never before. The first collection to launch on Forma (on September 30th) will be a platform mint, created by one of our founding team members and will utilize these unique mechanics (more details coming soon)!
Our Story
We recently became obsessed with creating art through code, but with limited access to platforms to generate art at mint, we wanted to take matters into our own hands. We saw the backlog of artists waiting to apply to other platforms and realized we weren’t the only ones who needed a place to share our creations in all their on-chain glory. Thus, Forma was born.
Our founding team has experience across computer science, art, product management, business, marketing, engineering, software and tech. We are also excited to announce that Steen (@ssteeenn), creator of Calendart on Art Blocks, is an advisor to the platform.
